CONTEMPORARY DANCE IN POST BAR – OPEN LEVEL CLASSES IN MARCH

Monday March 31st 18:00-19:15 Only 1 spots left

Tiia Kasurinen will be teaching open-level contemporary dance classes for adults at Post Bar on Mondays from 18:00 to 19:15 in March! These classes welcome both first-time dancers and more experienced movers—regardless of gender, skill level, or physical abilities. Movement is explored through anatomical and universally recognizable themes.

In addition to warm-ups and guided exercises, each session will include learning a short and simple dance choreography that dancers of different levels can adapt to suit their own bodies. The classes also include stretching, getting to know fellow dancers, and enjoying music—as the sound system is designed to optimize the experience of listening to music while dancing.

The classes follow safer space principles. There are no mirrors, and the focus is on how the movement feels, not the looks. Filming is not allowed without permission.

What to wear: Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Long pants. Socks or bare feet. Bring a water bottle.

Price: €12, sign up separately for each class.

Language of instruction: Finnish or English

Tiia Kasurinen is a dancer and choreographer working both internationally and in Finland and has graduated from the Stockholm University of the Arts. Her work has been presented all around the world at Dansé Elargie in France, One Dance Festival in Bulgaria, Inkonst Theatre in Sweden, Dance Base Yokohama in Japan, Helsinki Festival/Dance House, and at Zodiak.

As a director, Tiia is warm, encouraging, and easily inspired. When teaching, her main priority is to create an accepting and welcoming atmosphere in class.

Dance classes will be a part of our new focus into movement, exercise and sports during weekdays when we take a break from partying. One could say that ”Post Bar is a Sport Bar”.
